Saw
There is a discoloured and dismembered foot as the main image, this shows that something is wrong and creates a tense effect on the viewer as it is unpleasant to see body parts that are no longer attatched to the human body. The discoloured effect shows that the foot has been there a long time and makes the viewer wonder why there is a foot and why has it been left for a long time, this builds a strong enigma around the film.
There is a lack of colour around the main image so the poster doesn't give away much about what the film is about, creating questions based around the film. The bright lighting contradicts the genre of horror created by the poster as horrors are generally dimly lit fims to create more tension. The title is clear and easy to read and the font used is very morbid and unpleasant to look at as the font seems to vary between letters showing a lack of uniformity. There is a small line saying "Every puzzle has its pieces.", this line is very brief and creates questions as to why there is a puzzle being mentioned. The small print under the title lets the viewer know further information about the film like the director and producers involved in creating the film.
